BISHOP DAVID A. SWINSON, SR
Senior Pastor
Bishop David Swinson, a native of Brunswick, Georgia, was born in 1970. Having yet to realize the call and anointing of God on his life, he grew up tough and rugged and having to survive some of the worst of times. After years of everything the street life had to offer, he eventually ended up in prison, and in 1998 while serving time, he received Christ into his life as his Lord and Savior. Later that year upon his release he humbly accepted the call of God to the ministry to preach the Gospel and serve God's people. His ministerial training began in 1999 in Brunswick, GA where he served for period of three years under the leadership and guidance of Pastor G. Bobby Hall of Greater Hall Temple, C.O.G.I.C., where he was later licensed and ordained as a minister of the Gospel.
Pastor Swinson has always had a passion for evangelism and soul winning. With a burning passion for the lost, he eventually started an evangelistic ministry. Through standing on street corners and proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ, many souls were won to the Kingdom.
In 2003 Pastor Swinson and his wife moved to Jacksonville, Florida to serve under the leadership of Bishop James Swinson of Victory Way Christian Center. While serving in ministry, the anointing on his life for youth was so great, many were converted and their lives were completely transformed. The wide spread word of the transformed lives, peaked the interest of other youth to come see what the hype was about, only to discover the same life transformational experience. Years later he was placed in the position of Youth Pastor where he diligently continued to serve for 8 years.
After serving faithfully, and being equipped by his leaders, he humbly responded to the call, took a bold leap of faith and decided to obey God. In 2011, Calvary’s Way Ministries was birthed. Pastor David begin to pray for direction, and not many days later, he and his wife decided to start the ministry in their living room, along with his mother and youngest son. But only weeks into starting the ministry, others joined and we outgrew the living room space and they were forced to look for and acquire a building. Five years later, Pastor David and his best friend and life partner, Lady Sibrina Swinson, are remaining steadfast and diligent to the call and continue to serve together in ministry. They are very passionate about restoring families, building stronger marriages, training and equipping leaders and winning souls to the Lord. The ministry continues to grow as the Lord is adding to the church and the Kingdom of God is being enlarged. Together, they have 4 beautiful children (Antonio, Darius, David Jr, and Djzari). Truly the Lord has been guiding them every step of the way.
On June 18, 2016, Pastor David A. Swinson, Sr. was officially elevated to the Office of Overseer in the Lord's Church. Pastor Swinson also serves as the 1st Administrative Assistant to the Right Reverend Bishop Kevin L. Betton, Sr., Presiding Prelate of the Kingdom Fellowship of Interdependent Ministries. Bishop Swinson is honored to adorn this position of great responsibility as he humbly submits to the oversight, spiritual mentorship and ecclesiastical covering of the Bishop, by whose side he now gladly serves.
On June 19, 2021, Pastor Swinson was then consecrated into the Office of Bishop in the Lord's Church.
